This year, the Department of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), will launch another season of Fiesta Filipinas. Hence they aim to bring Philippine culture and festivities closer to Filipinos’ memories. As well as to highlight Filipino artistry, creativity, spiritual practices, and resilience. This event encourages “bisitas” to visit the Philippines, especially now that the borders are officially open.
The organizers have planned new segments and activities that the bisitas will surely enjoy. The local cuisine is usually the main attraction in barrios and towns during fiestas. Furthermore, a cooking segment will be one of the new Fiesta Filipinas elements this season to authentically showcase the unique Fiesta experience. A showcase of the province’s famous delicacy will also ensure a gastronomic experience for the bisitas with this new segment.
The Pahiyas Festival, like the previous season, will start off the second season of Fiesta Filipinas on 02 April 2022 with a virtual tour of the province. Thus featuring a new and exciting “local wanderer” who will showcase Lucban, Quezon offers. Of course as expected in any Filipino Fiestas, there will be lively parades and performances as well. They will livestream the first episode on the DFA’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel. So mark your calendars on on April 2, 2022, at 4:00 PM PHT. Moreover, Ninety-four (94) Philippine Embassies and Consulates General world wide are expected to virtually participate in the Pahiyas festival episode.
